On March 22, an Artistic Intervention Contest was launched in the gable of the Nuno Cordeiro Elementary School, under the MURO, Urban Art Festival Lx_2019, which will take place from May 23rd to 26th.

There were 25 artists and collectives from different backgrounds such as Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Switzerland, Spain, England, Germany and Portugal.

The jury, composed of Sílvia Câmara, representing the Department of Cultural Heritage; Sara Godinho, Director of the Northern Territorial Intervention Unit; Natália Barata, representing GEBALIS; Gisela Pereira, representing the Directorate of the Lumiar Schools Group and Tamara Alves, representative of the national artistic community; after long deliberation, unanimously chose the proposal of the Brazilian artist Muzai.

The choice was based on the criteria of readability of the image, even at a distance, the clear relationship with the proposed theme - the MUSIC -, the suitability to the architectural volume of the building.

The vibrant colors and simplicity of the design were appreciated by the jury.

Among the proposals, the jury also highlighted those of Portuguese artists Hazul and Pedro Henriques as of great interest and left the recommendation for future collaboration.
