Mário Belém | 150th anniversary of the Abolition of the Death Penalty in Portugal (1867-2017)

Lisbon has a new urban art artwork held in the context of the attribution of the European Heritage Label to the Law of Abolition of the Death Penalty and to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Abolition of the Death Penalty in Portugal (1867-2017).

Created by the national creator Mário Belém, the mural was carried out between March 26th and 31st and is located at Calçada de Santa Apolónia / Rua da Bica do Sapato, near the old Cais do Tojo da Bica do Sapato, an open place of capital punishment to serve as a public example in the past.
