The Urban Art Gallery, part of the Cultural Heritage Department of the Municipal Culture Directorate of Lisbon City Council, launched a challenge to 5 artists to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, with 5 decades of the history of urban art.
These artists, whose careers are representative of this fiftieth anniversary, António Alves, Youth One, +MaisMenos-, Kruella D‘Enfer and Arisca, created a symbolic journey through the Carnation Revolution, with interventions carried out in different areas of Lisbon.
From muralism, to graffiti, to street art, it takes over and expresses public space with symbolic concepts and techniques of the diversity that urban art in Portugal assumes, and these 5 works invite us to explore Lisbon and discover “Where Is Freedom”.
